The Taste Of Autumn -With Starbucks
Me and Lily Rose decided to do a collab blog post on new drinks in Starbucks and Costa for autumn, I went to Starbucks on Sunday and Lily went to Costa on the Monday. I asked Lily over Instagram and then over email about this I was so surprised when she said yes, as she had way more followers than me but Lily is such a nice person and I wish the best for her. We are both so excited to share this with you. Make sure you go to Lily’s page to see her The Taste Of Autumn -With Costa by clicking on her name. Whilst your there make sure to follow her! Whilst at Starbucks I tried two drinks, the typical drink everyone loves during the cold seasons, Hot chocolate and the returned Pumpkin Spice Latte. The main drink from Starbucks that had received a lot of attention is the Pumpkin Spice Latte drink, -its back! All my drinks I got didn’t have whipped cream because I really don’t like it, surely there must be someone else out there who doesn’t like it too? PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE “Cinnamon, nutmeg, clove? Check. Creamy milk for a delicious taste and texture? Check. Real pumpkin pie spices atop whipped cream? Check. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is back– with all the amazing ingredients that make it a beloved fall favorite. Stop on by and celebrate the season.” – Starbucks It was my first time trying it and I was very excited about it but I was disappointed with the taste and to then be told later on that I had just drank almost 50g of sugar. I added chocolate dust into the drink and it tasted so much better maybe I’m a chocolate-o-holic but either way it tasted much better. Oh well, it was a nice drink at the beginning but the taste at the end wasn’t very nice. If you try this drink be sure to tweet me a picture or tag me in a picture using Instagram! HOT CHOCOLATE “Do you remember your first hot chocolate? Sweet, creamy comfort in a cup. You instantly pegged it the best drink on earth. Chances are you’ll feel the same about our version of this classic beverage. Made with steamed milk, vanilla and mocha-flavored syrups, and topped with a generous swirl of sweetened whipped cream, we bet it tastes even better than the one you remember.” -Starbucks Out of the two I preferred the hot chocolate I’ve always loved hot chocolate its a familiar warm taste that's just perfect for autumn and winter. Oreo Cupcakes | Tanya Burr
Tanya always likes to do a blog post alongside her baking videos! Here's the link if you'd like to watch the oreo cupcakes video that tanya made. But I find it a lot easier to follow a simple recipe like the one below which I copied and pasted from her blog. These are super easy to make and amazing to eat! I hope you try making them yourself and if you do make sure you tag me and Tanya in your picture on twitter and Instagram because I’m sure she would love to see them too!
INGREDIENTS
For the cupcakes:
175g butter
165g caster sugar
3 eggs
40g cocoa powder
125g self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 pack oreos
For the frosting:
2 packs oreos
100g butter
200g icing sugar
Start by switching your oven on to 180 degrees celsius and putting cupcake cases into your cupcake tins. Next, mix together your butter and sugar until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Now crack in your eggs and whizz them into the butter and sugar. Then you need to fold in all of your dry ingredients (cocoa powder, flour and baking powder). Now for the exciting part - pop an oreo into the bottom of each cupcake case. This means that you'll have a surprise hidden oreo at the bottom of each cupcake, I think this is a really cute touch. Next, spoon your mixture into your cupcake cases on top of the hidden oreo and aim to fill the cases almost to the top. Now pop them in the oven for 14-17 minutes (it depends on how fast your oven cooks your cupcakes, they took 17 in mine!) (When I took mine out the oven they didn’t look very nice but once they cooled and I but the frosting on they looked fab and tasted even better!)
Whilst your cupcakes are in the oven, you could either do the washing up or make the frosting - obviously you're going to make the frosting ;) All you need to do is mix together your butter and icing sugar with a wooden spoon to make a smooth buttercream. Then you need to make half a pack of oreos into oreo crumbs! It's up to you how you do this, I used a blender, but you could also pop them into a sealed bag and bash them with a rolling pin. Stir your oreo crumbs into your buttercream and there you have your oreo frosting! (I’d make some extra frosting because its nice to have a whole heap of frosting on the top so the oreo can sit nicely on the top)
Once your cupcakes are completely cool you can spoon on your frosting and for a finishing touch, break an oreo in half (or in quarters thats what I did) and push it on top. (I didn’t wait that long but mine turned out fine)
